All-time players (26-50)

All-time players (26-50)

Clyde Drexler
If a great player plays the same position at the same time as Michael Jordan, does anyone notice? Let's just say that if a shooting guard was going to win the MVP during Drexler's career it wasn't going to be Drexler. His career numbers are impressive. Not coincidentally, Drexler was finally able to win an NBA Championship when Michael Jordan retired. Drexler was a 10-time All-Star who led the Blazers to the NBA Finals twice. He also had an impressive PER at 21.4. Clyde's scoring peaked out at 27.2ppg, his rebounding peaked out at 7.9rebs, and his passing peaked out at 8.0ast per game.

Rick Barry
Rick Barry's scoring peaked out at 35.6ppg, his rebounding peaked out at 10.6rebs, and his passing peaked out at 6.2ast per game. Rick Barry led his team to a championship and won a Finals MVP.

Isiah Thomas
Isiah's scoring peaked out at 22.9ppg, his rebounding peaked out at 4.5rebs, and his passing peaked out at 13.9ast per game. Isiah Thomas was the leader of 2 championship teams and he won 1 Finals MVP. He was a good shooter who took the ball to the hole with a big-man's ferocity. Not many players had or have his drive and determination to go along with superior talent.

Dirk Nowitzki
Dirk won the MVP in 2007. He turned the Mavs into a juggernaut. Dirk led the Mavs to the brink of the NBA Championship in '06 but came up short to D Wade and the Miami Heat. Dirk's Win Shares Above Average, Wins Shares, and Player Efficiency Rating are among the best in NBA history. Those numbers are tough to ignore.

Gary Payton
Gary Payton was one of the best two-way point guards in the NBA's rich history. During his prime, Payton averaged over 20 points and eight assists per game. He also made nine All-Defense First Teams which is the most all-time to go with a Defensive Player of the Year Award. Payton finished in the top six of the MVP Voting six times. Gary Payton's scoring peaked out at 24.2ppg, his rebounding peaked out at 6.5rebs per game and his passing peaked out at 9.0ast per game.

Dwyane Wade
Dwyane Wade's highest scoring season was this past season with his 30.2ppg effort, he shot 49.1%, grabbed 5 rebounds per game, and dished out 7.5ast per game. Clearly this was an MVP caliber season for Wade. Wade also has a Finals MVP, and people quickly forget how unstoppable he was in the playoffs and NBA Finals in 2006. Wade is also a great defender, who is finally getting recognition on the defensive end of the court. Clearly a Michael Jordan inspired athlete, Wade's stock is rapidly rising.

Patrick Ewing
Patrick Ewing's scoring peaked out at 28.6ppg, his rebounding peaked out at 12.1rebs, and his passing peaked out at 3.0ast per game. Ewing is one of those stars who had the misfortune of playing at the same time as Michael Jordan. He was never able to lead his team to a championship or win an MVP.

Bob McAdoo
From 1974-1977 McAdoo had one of the greatest four-season stretches in league history highlighted by an MVP award in 1975. He also finished runner-up in the MVP Voting twice during that stretch. McAdoo became a very good sixth man near the end of his career winning two NBA Championships with the Lakers.

Walt Frazier
Frazier was a fantastic two-way guard. He was selected to the First Team All-Defense seven times and First Team All-NBA four times. He also helped lead the New York Knicks to two NBA Championships. There were betters players on offense and better players on defense but there weren’t many who had his level of proficiency on both ends in his era.

Neil Johnston
Neil Johnston's scoring peaked out at 24.4ppg, his rebounding peaked at 15.1rebs, and his passing peaked out at 3.2 assists per game. Paul Arizin had a complete offensive repertoire, everything from long set shots to corner jump shots to driving layups and even hook shots. He had returned from two years in the military and didn't skip a beat, as the new up-tempo style played to his strengths: agility and scoring. Neil led the NBA in scoring three years in a row, 1953-55. He also led in field goal accuracy three times and was the league's top rebounder in 1954-55. A knee injury during the 1958-59 season ended his playing career.

George Gervin
George Gervin's scoring peaked out at 33.1ppg, his rebounding peaked out at 5.5rebs, and his passing peaked out at 3.4ast per game. Gervin led the league in scoring 4 times.

Allen Iverson
Allen Iverson did lead one of the worst supporting casts in NBA Finals history to an NBA Finals appearance as the leader in Philly. Iverson did win an MVP and is tied with George Gervin for 3rd most total scoring titles in NBA history with 4. Allen Iverson's scoring peaked out at 33ppg, his rebounding peaked out at 4.9rebs, and his passing peaked out at 7.9ast per game. The knock on Allen Iverson is the fact that he's been an inconsistent volume type scorer with a sub-par shooting %.

Elvin Hayes
Hayes averaged a double-double for thirteen-straight seasons. It would have been 16-straight had he not averaged 9.9 rebounds per game in 1982. Hayes did his best work in the playoffs averaging a double-double in every postseason that he played in. He led his teams to three NBA Finals and one NBA Championship. Elvin Hayes's scoring peaked out at 28.4ppg, his rebounding peaked out at 18.1rebs, and his passing peaked out at 3.3 assists per game.

Scottie Pippen
Scottie was a streaky scorer but arguably the best sidekick in NBA history. Scottie's scoring peaked out at 22ppg, his rebounding peaked out at 8.7rebs, and his passing peaked out at 7.0 assists per game. There is no question that--more than any other player--his career was enhanced by the good fortune of playing with a superstar. He made eight All-Defense First Teams. Only Gary Payton and Michael Jordan had more. Many question Pippen's abilities as a leader due to his arrest while Jordan was gone, and the fact that he had problems in Chicago and Houston with teammates.

Dominique Wilkins
Dominique Wilkins was one of the best scorers in the NBA in his prime. Wilkins won a scoring title and was truly a human highlight film. Dominique's scoring peaked out at 30.7ppg, his rebounding peaked out at 9.0rebs, and his passing peaked out at 3.8ast per game.

Dolph Schayes
When Dolph Schayes retired, he was the all-time leading scorer in NBA history. He was a member of an NBA Championship-team but never won an MVP. Dolph Schayes's scoring peaked out at 24.9ppg, his rebounding peaked out at 16.4rebs, and his passing peaked out at 4.0ast.

Jason Kidd
The knock on Jason Kidd is his poor shooting. Now, Kidd is a tremendously skilled point guard. He has excellent vision. He runs the break perfectly. He has a stocky-frame that he uses to finish. He is an above-average defender. Those attributes make him a very good player. Kidd has made the First Team All-NBA five times and First Team All-Defense four times. He came close to winning an MVP in 2002 but lost out to Tim Duncan.

Jerry Lucas
Lucas averaged over 20 rebounds in two different seasons. Only four players in NBA history ever accomplished that in even one season. Lucas's scoring peaked out at 21.5ppg, his rebounding peaked out at 21.1rebs, and his passing peaked out at 4.1ast per game.

Willis Reed
Willis Reed may have had the most productive season in sports history in 1970. He was the All-Star game MVP. He was the regular season MVP. He was the playoff MVP. He was also named First Team All-NBA and First Team All-Defense. That is also the same season in which he made his heroic mid-game return to lead the Knicks to the NBA Championship in game 7 of the Finals. He was also the NBA Finals MVP in 1973. Willis Reed's scoring peaked out at 21.7ppg, rebounding peaked out at 14.6rebs, and his passing peaked out at 2.3ast per game.

Tiny Archibald
Tiny's scoring peaked out at 34.0ppg, his rebounding peaked out at 3.0rebs, and his passing peaked out at 11.4ast. Tiny was rewarded in 1981 when playing for the Boston Celtics because he finally won a championship.

Dave Cowens
Darryl Dawkins says that Cowens was the dirtiest player he had ever seen and I don't doubt it. Cowens averaged 18 points and 14 rebounds per game throughout his career. That is just unheard of in today's game. He won the MVP in '73. He also had second, third, and fourth place finishes in MVP Voting. Cowens's scoring peaked out at 20.5ppg, his rebounding peaked out at 16.2rebs, and his passing peaked out at 5.0ast per game. Cowens also helped the Celtics to two NBA Championships.

Paul Arizin
Arizin's scoring peaked out at 26.4ppg, his rebounding peaked out at 11.3rebs, and his passing peaked out at 2.9ast per game. Arizin was one of the great early-NBA players. He averaged 23 points and eight rebounds over his career and led his team to an NBA Championship in 1956.

Steve Nash
Steve Nash is one of the best offensive point guards in NBA history. Nash has 2 league MVP awards. During those seasons Nash put up the type of production that is right up with some of the greatest point guards in NBA history. Nash is a player who can shoot the 3 point shot, and he can attack the basket looking for his own points or kicking the ball out to a teammate. Nash's scoring peaked out at 18.8ppg, his rebounding peaked out at 4.2rebs, and his passing peaked out at 11.6ast per game.

Paul Pierce
Paul Pierce won an NBA championship, and he also won the NBA Finals MVP. Paul Pierce's scoring peaked out at 26.8ppg, his rebounding peaked out at 7.3rebs, and his passing peaked out at 5.1ast per game. Pierce is also a solid defender. He is a very good three-point shooter having eclipsed the 38% mark 6 times. He uses his large frame to get to the basket on just about anyone and he has a lethal mid-range game.

Walt Bellamy
Bellamy is one of only seven players in NBA history to score more than 20,000 points and grab more than 14,000 rebounds (Robert Parish, Karl Malone, Elvin Hayes, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Moses Malone, and Wilt Chamberlain are the others). He finished in the top 10 in rebounding eight times, scoring five times, and field goal percentage 10 times. Some of Bellamy's totals are just ridiculous.
